A couple years ago we built some raised bed planters for a customer. and here is one of them. She loves them so much , she sends me pictures of them with flowers in them occasionally.

Thriving flowerbed with a relaxed cat.

Mary is a customer of ours who we had done a lot of work for in the past. She lived in a home in Baltimore County and sold it to move in with her daughter in Harford county. As she planned her move she wanted to take some of her favorite plants with her, but wanted to put them in a raised bed so she could tend them better without having to kneel on the ground.

We discussed all the options of size, style, color and function and this is what we came up with. It had to be 8'L x 4'W x 30"H, it had to have drainage and she wanted us to fill it with high quality top soil. She wanted it to be rot and rust resistant. We purchased number one treated lumber and stainless steel screws and off we went. We lined it with filter cloth to prevent any growth from coming through from the ground below, as well as preventing the topsoil from washing out the bottom or the 2" drain holes we drilled in the ends. We placed a few stones around the drain holes between the filter cloth and the inside of the box.

The gallery below is a progression of pictures from the time we built the raised bed in October until late July the following summer. We think Mary is a wonderful gardener, What do you think?

This was a really fun project for an absolutely lovely lady to help her enjoy her retirement. We love to serve people and help them bring their dreams true. We can build anything you want, raised bed to houses, sheds and garages. We also do trim Carpentry.
